UGM, Strossmayerjeva ulica 6
Thursday, 14 November 2024, 15:00-18:00
moderated by: asist. mag. Katja Kozjek Varl and museum consultant Brigita Strnad
Pre-school teachers and others working with pre-school children are invited to a training session in the inspiring environment of the Art Gallery. Brigita Strnad, head of the education programme, will first introduce you to the Angry Ant, the mascot of the UGM education programme, who welcomes and accompanies the youngest children to our gallery to learn about art. Together we will walk through Spekter, the exhibition of works from the UGM Collection, focusing on artworks that are interesting to present to children, for example: family, animal or imaginary motifs. We will also introduce you to our methods and forms of art education (in the museum) with younger children. Asist. mag. Katja Kozjek Varl, professor at the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor, majoring in art education, will also introduce you to practical art techniques that you can use when creating art in kindergarden.
Participants will receive a free picture book, Bite into Art. The picture book introduces the UGM Collection with the help of poems by Borut Gombač and the Angry Ant who explains the artworks, asks a lot of questions and gives clues for the art tasks.
There will also be a coffee and pastries break.
