Cycling paths / Ivan Dvoršak (1934 – 2013)
UGM, Strossmayerjeva 6
Thursday, 16 July 2020, 18:00
meeting point: in front of UGM

guided by: Andreja Borin, curator UGM

The cycling route will include stations related to the life and work of Ivan Dvoršak, an excellent photographer and graphic designer. With his recognizable sparsely worded approach, he photographed suburban Maribor motifs and became one of the most important Slovene modernist photographers in the second half of the 20th century. The curator of his retrospective exhibition will present the place where Dvoršak's photograph was created and the story related to it at each station. This time the leadership focuses on Tabor, among other things, the railway colony, where he spent his childhood in a family with nine children; his block on Betnavska Street in Tabor, where he spent his entire adult life and where an exceptional photograph of Divan (1972) was taken, the place where his most extensive part of the Garage (1973) and several other photographs were created. In case of rain, the cycling path is canceled. Tour is free of charge.
