Creative Saturday / Rolled Ball
Saturday, 17 April 2021, 10:00 – 11:30
in case of rain the workshop is canceled
starting point: at the statue of the Rolled Ball in the City Park
conclusion: at the geopuncture circles in the City Park

guided by: Brigita Strnad, head of the UGM pedagogical program

The sculptor Slavko Tihec created a concrete statue in the City Park in Maribor, which represents a rolled ball. Why is it placed right in this place? Why concrete? What does it represent? We will also look for balls and circles in other art installations in the park, in the monument to Leon Štukelj and in the statue of the boy Gabriel. The circle also plays an important role in the laying of Marko Pogačnik's stones. We will delve into their meaning in the art workshop that will follow the tour. The children will draw their ideas for round layouts, which can become something completely different if we add some lines and other shapes to them. Each participant will receive their own drawing equipment.
