Every period of time and every stage of life sees the individual and his or her role in society differently. Both certainly bring challenges, changes and recognitions. An image that is constantly with me and that I live with, through all its changes. What is it that I see about myself, is the question that will be asked in this art workshop, which with the theme of self-portraiture will open up a (self-)journey between image, reflection, observation and confession.
Through such meetings, UGM addresses groups who would like to complement their visual and experiential experience with painting. The meeting will be divided into two parts. The first part will be held in direct contact with works of art from the UGM Collection based on a chosen theme. We will delve into the characteristics of depicting one's own physical image through the inspiration found in the works of established artists. The second part will be practical. We will paint with acrylics on cardboard and the main artistic element we will be working with will be paint, which will act as if a litmus paper would painting us. There will also be a break with coffee and snacks.
A workshop at the UGM can also be a good opportunity for team building, which can bring colleagues together in a unique way, using art and creativity to create an open dialogue for different perspectives and ideas and to encourage thinking outside the box.
No previous knowledge or experience in the visual arts is required.
