EKO 8 / Producer of the Triennial
The founder and producer of the EKO Triennial has been the Maribor Art Gallery ever since 1980. UGM | Maribor Art Gallery is one of the central museums for modern and contemporary art in Slovenia, with a collection of over 7000 works of art by Slovenian artist of the 20th and 21st centuries. At UGM we exhibit the biggest names in Slovenian visual art of the past one hundred years and organise internationally relevant art events, we highlight emerging stars of the contemporary art world and explore current topics of visual art. With our collection and our programme, including 15 big and small exhibitions every year – from retrospectives and international festivals of contemporary art to architectural and design exhibitions – UGM helps shape the art scene at home and abroad. Our renowned education programme connects different generations, communities and educational institutions. UGM is a place for everyone!
